Cherie van der Poel

Cherie has been involved in the kitchen and joinery industry for 18 years apart from a hiatus in the USA dairy farming with her family. Now, with two adult children, she is taking her designing passion to the next level; creating a business that delivers on quality and craftmanship. This involves travelling to international fairs to keep ahead of the latest materials, colours and technologies available for kitchen and living spaces. A foodie at heart, Cherie finds great enjoyment in cooking for her family and friends with a focus on eating for wellness, honouring the seasons and respecting the environment. When she is able to drag herself away from a business she loves you will find her in the garden, hiking in the bush or sipping a well-deserved wine in front of a cosy fire.

When it comes to attention to detail, Eric is your man. With an undeniable passion towards quality craftsmanship, you can be assured the final product that leaves the factory floor has been manufactured to the highest calibre. Born and raised in Norfolk Island, Eric has been involved in the kitchen and joinery industry his whole life, growing up with wood grain in his blood. Well-versed in artisanal projects and the pleasure they bring, Eric understands the importance of delivering a quality product to align with the client’s artistic vision. On weekends, Eric enjoys hunting, fishing, diving, woodwork and spending time with his two young children.

Meet Kay, the friendly face who greets you as you enter the GOTITMADE showroom workplace. As our office administrator she manages the accounts and is responsible for ordering all the components for your project working in sync with the factory team. In her spare time Kay enjoys getting creative in her own kitchen… her chicken liver pate is legendary in the office! Weekends are for spending with family, friends and her much-loved pooch, Pepper the Poodle. Her home away from home is in Whitianga with a chilled glass of wine and jazz playing while relaxing on the deck. It doesn’t get better.

Rhian James

Rhian is passionate about interior design, has a creative spirit and a real talent for hand drawing. Her goal is to guide her Clients towards creating functional, unique spaces for them to reside. Originally from Wales, a farmer’s daughter, Rhian was a children’s nurse for many years. She ventured to NZ with her husband and 2 young children in 2006. An opportunity to study interior design in 2015 as a ‘mature’ student led to a Diploma in Interior Design and accolades, including an Architect’s Award for designing a modular style container home as well as ‘Best Student’ for her portfolio of work. Always dabbling in art, producing her own hanging art and upcycling old furniture is her way to relax. She is forever on the go!
